The MayoBird is moving?

Its not often a food truck finds overwhelming success, but Charlotte based food truck “The MayoBird” is breaking the mold. The MayoBird is about to park the truck and open the doors to a permanent location on East Blvd., in what used to be a Bruegger’s Bagels and Caribou Coffee location.

Owner DeeDee Mills posted this on Twitter Jan. 24, along with a picture of the building:

“It’s crazy, in a great way,” said DeeDee Mills. On one side will be MayoBird, and will be open all day. The other side will be a dinner only concept called “Summit Room”.

MayoBird is best described as a specialty chicken salad sandwich food truck that only uses free-range chicken, Duke’s mayonnaise, local produce, and locally-made bread from Nova’s Bakery. They serve a variety of handmade specialty chicken sandwiches, salads, and soups. Summit Room will have a “Southern-leaning” menu, Mills said, and will use as many local ingredients as possible. The menu details haven’t been hammered out yet but they are in the midst of menu creation.

Being an avid lover of chicken salad you can bet we will be there on opening day giving you a full recap :)
