The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar

I went to The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar on a Thursday night and was surprised to find out that there was still going to be an hour wait. So we put our names on the list and walked around Crate & Barrel for a while until our table was ready.

Once seated we were given the 53lb… 17 Chapter… book they call a “menu” (slight exaggeration), but really.. the menu is huge! I decided to go with the CBCLT burger with no onion and a side of bacon coleslaw, an order of fried pickles for the appitizer and apple pie wontons for dessert. The CBCLT is an all beef burger with sharp cheddar cheese, thick cut applewood smoked bacon, white cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato, served on brioche with a signature Cowfish sauce. I was pleased to see the brioche was freshly baked and thought the burger was pretty good… I still think the best burger in Charlotte is @ Firebirds, but thats just my opinion. The bacon coleslaw was delicious, as I would expect of anything that had bacon in it :)

The fried pickles had a great batter and were fried to perfection but I would have preferred them sliced just a little thinner. Now… the dessert… apple pie wontons…. delicious!!! They came out beautifully plated and tasted just as they looked.

The Cowfish Burger Sushi Burger Bar is definitely a great addition to the Charlotte restaurant scene… its really popular so make sure you’re prepared to wait… and bring your reading glasses, bc the menu is long and you may get menu reading fatigue :)
