We couldn’t leave Lynchburg without checking out another one of the hottest hangouts in town. Rivermont Pizza is located mostly underground and has one seriously cool vibe to it from the minute you walk in the door. Located within walking distance of where we were staying, Rivermont Pizza was an easy decision when we got our late-night craving for delicious food.
Established in 2008, Rivermont Pizza has been serving up over 20 beers on tap daily, over 15 specialty pizzas, appetizers, salads, weekly specials, local and regional live music, special events and plenty more.
We tried the Ricky, which had Italian sausage, artichoke hearts, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes and goat cheese over a fresh baked crust. The ingredients were fresh and the flavors were on point, the only thing that made this pizza better was when it was drowning in ranch dressing :)
We then dove into a Molokai with pancetta, pineapple, chicken, mozzarella made in-house and Randy Hall’s Famous Bbq Sauce. This was my “Curtis” personal favorite of the night. The crust reminded me of Fuel Pizza and the unique combination of toppings is always a hit with me. The only thing I would have added would have been way more cheese, some caramelized onions and it would have been an unimaginably amazing pizza.
If you live in Lynchburg chances are you already love Rivermont Pizza, but for those who may be driving through the area and looking for something great to eat in an unfamiliar little town.. go to Rivermont Pizza and enjoy some of the best pizza around!
