Pike’s Old Fashioned Soda Shop and Fine Diner was awesome! We stopped by on our way back from a day at the the USNWC and absolutely loved this place. The name says “old fashioned” but its not the the cheap theme way like Johnny Rockets. There is outdoor seating available and being that we were still drying off from our day rafting… we decided to avoid the indoor A/C and dine outside. We went all out for dinner and treated ourselves to the full old fashioned experience by getting a burger, a chicken sandwich, cream soda, peach shake and a root beer float.
There are a few pre-maid options for burgers or if you’re adventurous you can make your own… so we made our own. We opted for pimento cheese, bacon and grilled onions all atop an all natural 1/3lb beef patty. To say it was delicious would be an understatement. The burger was juicy, cooked to perfection and full of flavor.
The hawaiian chicken sandwich came topped with pineapple, bacon and teriyaki sauce. This sandwich was amazing and really brought back some memories of growing up in California and eating the toucan sandwich at Islands. I didnt care for the french fries much but Ella loved them… my preference is thin cut and crispy, hers is thicker and squishier.
Ella got the peach shake and I got a root beer float… mine was the better of the two :) The peach shake was made fresh and poured right at the table and my root beer float came in a big chilled glass filled to the top and foaming with root beer froth.
We can easily recommend Pike’s Old Fashioned Soda Shop and Fine Diner. The vibe was pure relaxation and the food was amazing. If you’re driving around the Southend neighborhood and looking for some great food with a great vibe, Pike’s Old Fashioned Soda Shop and Fine Diner is the way to go.
