I finally made my way over to Paco’s Tacos and Tequila over in SouthPark and I loved it. My first bit of advice to the owners would be to find a location on a busier road because the restaurant is a little hidden. Once you find it though you’re in for a treat. When I walked in I first noticed the restaurant inspection score was a 100.5, that’s a great feeling when you’re about to eat. I was seated very quickly and our waitress was very helpful.
The chips and salsa were great and we ordered the chili con queso which was good though I found myself wishing it had chorizo instead of ground beef. I got three tacos for my meal… the gringo taco, paco’s taco and the skirt steak taco. The gringo taco is seasoned ground beef, topped with a generous portion of guacamole turned out great, paco’s taco was easily the best beef brisket taco I’ve ever had and the skirt steak taco was prepared with grilled onions and peppers and with a little bit of sour cream it was perfect. I got the charro beans and the citrus chipotle slaw for my sides and thought both of them were good though not great, so I’m going to have to try the BBQ buttered corn next time. Overall, the tacos were amazing, the staff was very friendly and I had a great time. I can easily recommend Paco’s taco’s and tequila to anyone around the SouthPark area looking for some great Mexican food.
