Last weekend we decided it was time for Curtis to take his first trip to IKEA. We are not in that area often so we knew we had to take advantage of it and try a local favorite. That is how we ended up ay My Bento Asian Diner and I am glad we did.
They have a pretty big menu that varries from hibachi and terriyaki to an all you can eat sushi buffet for only $8.95. I couldn’t pass up all you can eat sushi so I went for the buffet. The buffet was huge and full of traditional favorites like sesame chicken, mongolian beef, egg rolls and maore sushi than I have ever seen. Everything was delicious but the sushi was definatly the star of the show. It is a treat to have such a wide selection of sushi for so cheap.
I tried the California roll, spicy tuna roll, bento roll, crunchy roll, chicken terriyaki roll, and then went back for more bento rolls.
Even if you are not a sushi lover My Bento has lots of tasty treats to offer, like the Kung Pao Chicken.
Curtis ordered it extra spicy (of which its never hot enough) and when it came out it wasnt even spicy enough for me to notice the heat… and thats really saying something! The hot and sour soup was good but had a thick consistency that reminded us of gravy. The lo mein noodles were deliciously average and the chicken itself came with a scrumptious mix of fresh veggies. Hardly the best Chinese dish we had ever eaten… but not bad by any means… just sorta average.
My Bento Asian Diner is a popular Chinese hotspot in the UNCC area and if you’re looking for an amazing and affordable sushi buffet you gotta check this place out!!!
