I have been to Loco Lime on a number of occasions but definitley thought it necessary to write a seperate review just for Cinco de Mayo.
Earlier in the day while deciding where to spend my night I received an email from Matthew, the marketing manager @ Loco Lime, inviting me to come out and try their special dish for Cinco de Mayo…. A CARNITAS PLATE!!!!! Well, with me being a self-appointed carnitas expert I felt it very important that I take Matthew up on his invitation and give the carnitas a shot.
The restaurant was PACKED and the wait was way long to get a table.. all of which was expected for one fo the best mexican restaurants in Charlotte. The wait passed quickly and before we knew it we were sitting at our table and devouring chips, salsa and queso. I obviosly ordered the carnitas for dinner and only waited 10 minutes for the plate to arrive, which was impressive for how busy they were.
The carnitas plate had been slow roasted for 18hrs with traditional mexican spices and beer and tasted great. They were full of flavor and had a beautiful presentation. IDK if this is going to be a new addition to the menu or just a special one night dish.. but either way it was amazing and I hope to eat alot more of it.
