Curtis Bonwell

I was born in Orange County, California and moved to Charlotte, NC in ’95. I went to Greenway Park Elementary… McClintock Middle… then Butler High and graduated in 03′. After graduating I worked a number of jobs before realizing that my heart just wasn’t in them. So in 2010 I set out to remake myself and started a number of projects that have completely changed my life.

In 2010, I received my NC Provisional Brokers License and have since started working with Charlotte, NC’s leading high-end and boutique real estate company… Savvy + Co. Real Estate. I started as a closing coordinator and quickly rose to be a marketing assistant and social media specialist. If you’re looking for a Realtor to help you buy or sell a home anywhere in the country… let me know. I work with an amazing team of Realtors that would love to assist you in Charlotte, NC… or if you are outside of Charlotte, NC, I can use my real estate resources to find the best agent in your area for you.

Outside of work, I’m pursuing my lifelong passion for the arts under the name of “THIRTEENTWENTYSEVEN“. I constatnly strive to improve my skills in everything from digital and film photography, to graffiti and pencil sketches. Quite simply… there is no form of art that I’m not interested in creating.

In 2010 I started doing restaurant reviews and food photography with Ella H on Urbanspoon under the name of “the Foodies“. Since then we have become Charlotte’s leading food reviewers and have had the opportunity to attend special pre-grand opening events and behind the scenes access to some of Charlotte’s hottest restaurants.

After becoming the top contributors on urbanspoon we decided it was time to launch our own site, so in 2011 urbanfoodlife was born. In its first year our site has seen success larger than we could have dreamed of.

That same year my brother and I created “CHARLOTTE OFFROAD“, an offroading enthusiast group based in Charlotte, NC.

Charlotte Offroad was created to give the ever growing group of offroading enthusiast around Charlotte, NC a place to come and share upcoming events, group trail rides and general offroading discussion. Since its creation we have seen the following:

  • Membership growing at a steady rate, currently at 130+
  • Sponsored by local shops and national offroad corporations
  • Development of Charlotte Offroad branded merchandise
  • Promotional partnerships with local and national businesses
  • Launch of CharlotteOffroad.com Blog and Forum

When I’m not eating or offroading.. I’m an avid adventure seeker and any free time I have is spent kayaking, whitewater rafting at the USNWC, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, offroading, competitive food competitions, or when the money is available… I get another tattoo :)

I am also the proud parent of two beautiful pit bulls (Click Here for pictures) and frequently volunteer with the American Pit Bull Foundation.

I rescued Daphne in 2007 and she’s my 72lb brindle red-nose princess that loves nothing more than sleeping the day away on her very own leather couch. We rescued Cocoa in 2011 and she is a 51lb brown and white powerhouse that wants nothing more than to be by your side at all times.

If there is anything I can do to help you find the perfect restaurant to dine at for the evening… a Realtor to find you a home… the perfect pitbull rescue.. a trail to take your Jeep on… or the best place to get a tattoo, dont hesitate to send me an email!

  1. We would love for you to come and review our small bbq restaurant. We are devoted to providing competition quality bbq, chicken, ribs and sides on a daily basis. We have been open almost three years now and are a little known sevret to alot of people. We are overlooked by the big boys in Charlotte and the Observer but would gladly put our BBQ up against any in the area or two states for that matter.

    Thanks
    Brian
