Cantina 1511

Cantina 1511 might not be the place you think of when considering where to go and eat cheap… but I’m here to tell you its the BEST SECRET IN CHARLOTTE!!!!!!!!!!!! Well maybe not anymore :) From 4-7 weekdays you can get $2 appitizers if you sit at the bar at Cantina 1511…… yes thats right……. $2 appitizers.

I’m talking taquitos, tostadas, nachos, wraps, chicken strips.and something else we cant remember. These are each big enough to be served as a meal and if you’re like us… you go the glutonous route and order four of them!!! Tonight we hit up Cantina 1511 and got our favorite of the four:

  • Taquitos
  • Tostada
  • Nachos
  • Chicken Strips
For a whopping $8 we’ve got a plethora of mexican delicassies laid out in front of us only minutes after placing our order. No matter what you order you get the standard chips and salsa to hold your hunger at bay until your food arrives… not that the wait is ever more than like 5 minutes.
The taquitos are topped with fresh tomatos, lettuce, cheese, sour cream…etc…  and fried to a crisp!
The tostada is served over a layer of refried beans, crunchy friedand topped with all of the same fresh ingredients as the taquitos.
The nachos seem to get bigger and bigger every time we go and we love them more and more!!! Piled high you get all the fresh ingredients you expect plus guacomole and deliciously melty Mexican cheese :)
The unexpected favorite of ours is the chicken strips. If you haven’t caught on to the trend yet you might be surprised to find out that these are fried as well :) and come with an addictive ranch dipping sauce… possibly ranch chipotle???
If you’re broke like us but still crave delicious food… check out Cantina 1511 between 4-7 weekdays and try some of the things off of the bar menu. Everything on the menu is small on price but surprisingly HUGE on size and flavor!!!
